PURETORQ Inc. specializes in the design and manufacture of high performance lightweight composite and aluminum actuators in double acting and spring return configurations. Puretorq patented its vane-type, fixed seal, rotary pneumatic actuator, recognizing the need for a robust and long lasting quarter-turn valve actuation.

History

Puretorq's actuator was conceived and designed in Canada. In 2005, management transferred production to Taiwan to streamline production.

Currently, the Puretorq actuator line has been increased to 9 models, in both DA (Double Acting) and SR (Single Acting with Spring Return) and in both composite material and aluminum.

In 2007, Puretorq began its cooperation with V-Control, Inc. in Canada for the development, manufacturing and marketing of VS-II solenoid valves.

Puretorq has worldwide patents for its innovative design – It is the only vane type actuator on the market today with a fixed seal and moving vane. The fixed seal eliminates the need for separate shaft and body seal because they are all incorporated into the "Tri-Seal".

The "Tri-seal" is pressure assisted and is inherently self-compensating for wear giving it unprecedented cycle life. Meanwhile, alloy or high corrosion resistant glass reinforced polyamide composite materials are available depending on the needs of the operational environment.
